Junior Choir

Who is it for?
For children who would like to sing with the adult choir at Sunday services.  Especially those aged eight and over.

Where and when is it held?
Junior Choir rehearsals are held in the Vestry on the second and fourth Sunday of the month at 8.45am and the choir stays on for the 10.00am Sung Mass.

Who runs it?
Our Director of Music.  All adult members share responsibility in looking after the children in rehearsals and in helping with the robes which members of the Junior Choir wear.

The Director of Music has appointed a Head Chorister to assist him in looking after the less experienced children and to see that everything is ready for services.  Deputy Head Choristers give further assistance and they will have specific responsibilities.  Senior Choristers always operate under the authority of the Director of Music.

What is expected of me as a parent/carer?

  • If your child wishes to join the Junior Choir please complete and sign a form which can be found at the Information Point and return it to the Director of Music.
  • It is expected that parents/carers will inform the Director of Music if their child is unable to attend choir practice or a service.
  • Punctuality is of the utmost importance.  The Junior Choir only meet twice a month, so every minute counts!

What is expected of my child?

  • It is important that everyone is a good reader for their age and that those who join are reliable and punctual.
